A vacationing frugal mom in Quebec

Last summer we decided to go on vacation in Quebec. La belle province. Why Quebec? The dollar was not so strong compared to the US and we viewed Quebec as an extension of Europe at half the cost.  We visited Quebec city, Montreal and Mont-Tremblant.  We were able to enjoy the outdoors and at the same time have the convenience of having Supermarkets, and other low cost food alternatives.

We didn’t want to eat out all the time, even though the food in Montreal was amazing.  We had choice, Mediterranean, French, Asian but being on a budget we decided to look at some coupon books and local coupon websites.

I stumbled upon EspaceCoupons.com using “coupon rabais” keyword on google, this website had quite a few links. Using my college French I was able to navigate easily. There were some great links to printable grocery coupons Smartsource, Save, and WebSaver, additionally POM Passeport.

POMs coupon book is available at most touristic locations and also downloadable in pdf.  This was our source of fun, activities for the kids at a reduced rate. We saved on Water slides, the Aquaparc and Grandby Zoo.  Plus we managed to find accommodations at 50% off and Hertz car rental coupons.  They also had a handy coupon for St-Hubert chicken, we used that a lot.  We really saved a ton of money and had fun.

Espace pour la vie was another great link that we found, saving money at the Botanical Gardens and Biodome.  My kids especially enjoyed seeing the penguins after seeing the penguins movie.  Great times.

We found links to the local shopping malls and Tanger Factory outlets and downloaded the coupons. Saint-Sauver, Mirabel and Bromont are some of the outlet locations great deals and savings.

We will definitely go to Quebec again, it’s so affordable with these tips.
