My house is so peaceful this morning – the kids are already outside playing. I’m sitting here with my coffee and donut. It’s something I started doing when I pick up my Sunday papers – I also pickup donuts and now my family knows to expect it.
I was lucky today, I grabbed the last 4 Minneapolis Star Tribunes! I think word is getting out that the Star has the better coupons! When I first started buying papers, I never had trouble finding the Star. There was always a big stack of them. Now I suppose I’m going to have to get up even earlier!
I’ve learned through trial and error that not all papers are alike. I’ve mentioned in my past blog articles that you need to figure out which papers in your area have the best inserts. Sometimes though that means paying a higher price for those papers. In my area, we have the Minneapolis Star Tribune which costs $2, the St. Paul Pioneer Press which costs $1 and the local Leader Telegram which costs $1.75. For me, there’s just no comparison. I will pay the $2 because the Star is the only one that gets all of the “good” coupons. The other two only get the basic coupons.
I started writing this post just because it was nice and peaceful and I don’t usually get much of that around here. But I figured it was a good time to do a refresher about the Sunday newspaper. It’s worth it to do your own comparison in your area and see how your papers stack up.
