A recipe for Cheeseburger Crescent Casserole came in my email today. Yay for Pillsbury! I had no idea what to make for dinner tonight. I get stuck sometimes without a plan. Thankfully I didn’t pick up the phone and call for pizza delivery! I love getting emails from Pillsbury with dinner ideas and today’s email definitely came in use.
I usually always have some sort of crescent roll on hand. The last time I was at the store, I saw the Crescent Seamless Dough Sheet. I love this idea! So much better than the little triangles for making certain recipes. I’m not a big fan of having to try to make a seam and put back together those triangles. Never works so well. At any rate, I picked up two of the Crescent Seamless Dough Sheet tubes because I knew I’d find things to make. Sure enough, I used them in tonight’s recipe. I did modify the original recipe. The recipe below is with my substitutions.
I was originally going to use some generic Velveeta cheese that I had on hand but I couldn’t find my cheese slicer. So I ended up just using the other shredded cheese I had. The Velveeta I think would have tasted good too.
Cheeseburger Crescent Casserole
1 lb ground beef, cooked, drained
1/2 cup ketchup
1 1/2 cups shredded American cheese (6 oz)
1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated crescent seamless dough sheet
Heat oven to 375°F. In 10-inch skillet, mix beef (already cooked) and ketchup. Heat over medium-high heat until hot, stirring occasionally. Stir in 1 cup of the cheese. Spoon into ungreased glass casserole dish.
Place dough on top of meat mixture. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until cheese is melted.
We made sweet potato fries to go with the Cheeseburger Crescent Casserole and had a really yummy last minute meal. This recipe is a good one for any family that loves cheeseburgers and french fries. Super easy and takes barely any time at all.
