It’s been awhile since I have been in college so when I took a college course a few years back it was like digging through the cobwebs trying to come up with enough knowledge to figure things out. Plus I feel like things change and if you don’t keep current, you’re lost. Especially in writing book reports and things were you have to cite your sources. That wasn’t very easy back in the day but when you are rusty at it, it’s even worse. It’s like trying to figure out a whole new language for the first time!
I also went through the same problems when I was helping my oldest write his very first book report. There are so many rules to citing sources that you can’t possibly remember them all. It’s nice having a place where you can go and look up exactly what you need for what kind of source. We used a book to help us but if things change, books don’t change with it so our book would have been out of date.
It’s awesome to have sources on the Internet to help with things like this. Of course having the Internet means a whole new set of rules when citing your source!
Just when I thought I was done writing papers and having to deal with the rules of citing sources, I start homeschooling and helping my 4 kids all with their book reports. Guess keeping those citation rules on hand will be necessary!
