I’m taking a few minutes to write this blog because I bet there are a lot of households that have a little boy or girl similar to my little guy, Caleb – and by that I mean a high energy little bundle of JOY! And now that school is letting out for the summer we are all going to need to find things that will keep him or her busy!
I have 4 children including a set of 6 year old boy/girl twins and not that long ago, we also did foster care for a little baby girl. Believe me I have heard all of the “wow, how do you it”… “are you crazy”…”you’re done now, right”… For the record, most of these questions make me crazier than my kids do!
I homeschool all 4 kids and have from the beginning – my oldest just turned 12 – so I’m home with them all the time. Sure there’s been bumps in the road trying to figure out how to motivate, keep them busy, etc. but with Caleb it’s a whole different story. He’s bright and loving, very athletic. He’s into sports, especially baseball. In fact we’re already planning on retiring and living somewhere warm when he gets drafted to a major league baseball team – he’s going to be a famous left handed pitcher some day!
But let me tell you, keeping this kid busy is tiring! He is so active. He can run circles around me and his brother and sisters. He’s constantly asking them to play at the park, play baseball, basketball, anything he can think of. Then he moves on to me…mom will you come play catch with me, mom will you come pitch to me, mom will you come play at the park with me, mom, mom, ma, mama, mommy, mom, mom, ma, mah! lol Don’t get me wrong, I love playing with him and I do play with him but he wears me out!
I need to figure out how to tire him out and what I can do to keep him busy!! I found a few articles that I’m going to link below but I’d really like to hear from you guys. What are some great things you do to keep your kids busy?
