Tator Tot Hot Dish
1 bag of tator tots
1 bag of broccoli florets or 2 cans of green beans (either one is great)
1 lb hamburger
2 cans of cheddar cheese soup
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
Brown hamburger. Drain. Layer in casserole dish hamburger, frozen broccoli (or green beans), cream of mushroom soup, tator tots and then cheddar cheese soup on top. Bake at 350 for 30-45 mins.
This is a dish that I like to make double of and then freeze one pan for a different night.
In the second pan, you’ll want to line it first with saran wrap and then with aluminum foil before you start putting the ingredients in it. I have some pictures below with two pans side by side. Each pan is in a different step so you can see the process. This time, I also made one with broccoli and one with green beans.
The final picture is wrapping up the pan before it goes in the freezer.
I freeze it for usually 24 hours and then take it out of the pan and put it in an jumbo 2 1/2 gallon Hefty storage bag. I’ve been able to find them at Target. Then that way they have an extra layer of freezer protection and I’m not taking up a pan.
When you want to have it for dinner, take it out of the bag, take the saran wrap off and put it back in a pan. No need to pre-heat the oven. Just turn the oven to 350 place it in the oven and bake for 1 – 1 1/2 hours and you have dinner!
You can do this process with a lot of hot dishes…saves so much time and makes sense since you’re already cooking the one dish, might as well make two!
