I can’t believe we’re going to be ringing in 2012 in just a few hours! I’m not usually one that sits and reflects on the past. I like to look forward to the future. Does that make me a glass half full kind of gal? Or maybe it’s just that my memory is so horrible that I can’t remember what happened over the last year to be able to sit and reflect.
But today I’ve been sitting back and watching my kids, just enjoying watching them play and actually reflecting a bit. It’s been a long week of Christmas vacation. Not that anything changes for us when they are off of school. When you homeschool, they’re home all the time anyway so I don’t get to send them back to school on Monday. They’ve all been a bit squirrly this week. I’m sure a lot of it is due to our routine being off, no meal plan for the week, new toys to play with, etc.
My point is, even in all of this craziness, I would take it over how we spent this time last year. Last year right after Christmas, our youngest daughter Faith was admitted to the hospital with a Crohn’s flair up. So we spent this whole week including New Years in the hospital with her and were away from the rest of the kids.
I am grateful that this New Years Faith is doing better, she is home and that we are all together.
On a blog related note…I started Slop Swap just this past year. Wow, has it grown and changed in just the last 9 months! I am excited for 2012 and I love that you are all here with me! I finally feel like I’m narrowing in on what I want this blog to offer, to be and where I want to it go. I appreciate you sticking around through the growth period and will continue to stay with me because the best is yet to come!
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and here’s to a great 2012!
