Has Facebook‘s latest changes got you screaming at your computer too? Well I’ve got a couple of solutions for you so that you don’t miss any important posts. I’m not just talking about Slop Swap posts, although I’d hate for you to miss the latest and greatest deal because Facebook decided that I wasn’t important enough to make the top of your list!
If you’re getting used to the new layout and don’t want to miss an important friend or blog, for example Slop Swap, you’d find one of my posts and hover over the upper left hand corner. A blue triangle will appear and say “mark as top story.” Click that. That way Facebook will know that those people are important to you.
When I go to my personal page, I like to see everyone that I subscribe to, not just the posts that Facebook has decided are the most important and then have to scroll down to the bottom to maybe see the rest. One of my fellow bloggers, Frugally Thrifty, has created this great video to demonstrate how you can create lists.
When you create lists, you can then click on your lists and see just those people individually. If you want to just see your family’s status updates or your friends’, bloggers’, etc. you create a list for those groups. Then you can click on that specific group and see just those status updates. This is a great way to keep everything separate and not miss anything.
Take a look at the video and let me know what you think. Just don’t forget to add all your favorite blogs, including Slop Swap of course. And then also, once you have made up your lists, don’t forget to go in and check them once or twice a day so that you don’t miss a great deal. The deals come out morning, noon and night so you may want to check your blogger list so you stay on top of everything.
Hope this helps make this change easier to get used to!
