This is a great slow cooker recipe that you can put together for very little cost. You serve it over rice or noodles…whatever you might happen to have in your cupboard.
Ingredients:
3-4 Frozen Chicken Breasts,
1 Can Cream of Chicken Soup,
1 Package Cream Cheese,
1 Package Zesty Italian Dry Dressing Mix
Put chicken on the bottom of your slow cooker. Mix all other ingredients in a bowl. You can warm the soup and cream cheese in the microwave first just to make it a little easier to mix. Poor over the chicken. Cook on low until done (usually 4-5 hours).
Today I used the plain Philadelphia Cooking Creme instead of the plain cream cheese (If you use the cooking creme, you don’t need to warm it in the microwave…just spread it right over the chicken). Other than the fact that it was incredibly easy to spread, I don’t see the need to use the cooking creme over the cream cheese. Especially because of the price. I picked up the Cooking Creme for $2.50 on sale but you can always pick up store brand cream cheese for a pretty reasonable price and I think I’d sacrifice spreadability over price. That’s just my two cents worth.
*Update – I posted this one previously and a reader posted that she had mistakenly grabbed ranch dressing instead of zesty dressing. She said it was delicious!
I got this recipe from a friend and we’ve been enjoying it ever since. Hope you enjoy it too!
